SUSE Studio

For those of you who are often wishing you could tweak the defaults of the distro just a tiny bit (add certain packages, remove certain packages, run certain scripts on first boot, etc) then you should look into SUSE Studio. It will allow you to tweak the settings for the distribution so that you can have an image that you simply deploy onto systems or virtual machines without having to bother with installing certain packages. For example you can create a generic desktop image that is already configured with all the settings required to use it on your network. I have been messing around with it and at the moment am trying to configure it so that I have a generic LDAP server image that I can mess around with. Oh and did I mention that it is completely free to use? Check it out!
